Details

Galleon MatchbookThe Galleon was a popular restaurant with a piano bar from sometime in the 1970s until 1995. Jazz vocalist Barry Kinder was one of many to have extended engagements there.

For a time, it was Amber Lounge, a straight bar that managed to get around the statewide smoking ban in bars by making all of their employees co-owners. It is now the Residence, which does not permit smoking.

  1. I was so glad to be able to work at the Galleon. I was there from 1992 until it finally closed, I do miss all of the places I use to frequent, or work at. The Giraffe, Polk Gulch Saloon, the Yacht Club, Trocadero Transfer, and many others. Those were great times.

    1. Brian, me too…. I used to watch David Kelsey and pure trash play at the New Bell Saloon, go to Sunday Tea Dances at the End up, go dancing at the I Beam and Trocadero, etc, etc…. That was back in the early to mid 80’s. And my very good friend Pat Montclair used to work at the Galleon as well. Those were, indeed great times….
